04Bill payments & wallet
Timpbills is a technology platform that processes bill payments through licensed third-party providers (mobile networks, electricity distribution companies, cable TV providers, etc.). We are not the supplier of these underlying services.
You authorise us to debit your Timpbills wallet or linked payment method for any transaction you initiate. By initiating a transaction, you confirm that:
- The information you provide (meter number, phone number, smartcard, etc.) is accurate.
- You have authority to pay the bill or top up the account in question.
- The funds used are lawfully obtained.
05Fees & charges
Timpbills does not charge a fee for paying most bills, you pay the amount displayed at checkout. The following may apply:
- Card top-up fees set by the card processor (typically 1.5%).
- Standard provider surcharges where the biller imposes one (for example, certain electricity DisCos).
- Bank fees on outgoing transfers (when withdrawals become available).
All applicable fees are shown to you before you confirm a transaction. We reserve the right to introduce or revise fees by giving you at least 14 days' notice in-app and by email.
06Refunds & failed transactions
If a transaction fails because of an issue on our side or with a provider, we will refund the full amount to your Timpbills wallet, automatically, in most cases within minutes. In rare cases of extended provider downtime, refunds can take up to 7 working days.
If you believe a transaction has been incorrectly processed, please contact us within 30 days via our contact page with the transaction reference. We will investigate and respond within 7 working days.
We do not refund successfully delivered top-ups, data bundles, electricity tokens or cable subscriptions where the error is attributable to a wrong input on your part (e.g. wrong meter number).
